Get Involved

Four ways to take part — speak at a meeting, write to the Board, follow the work, or serve on it.

Have your say on an upcoming decision. The best time to weigh in is before the Board votes. Check what’s coming up under Key Issues and find the meeting date under Meetings, then comment in person, by Zoom, or in writing.

Speak at a meeting

Board meetings are open to everyone — come in person, watch the live stream, or join by Zoom. Most meetings include a public comment period near the start, where residents address the Board directly. The guides below explain how it works and what to expect.

Write to the Board

To send written correspondence to the full Board, email board@huusd.org — include your name and town. Correspondence to the Board is part of the public record.

Write before the meeting where your topic comes up — email received ahead of a meeting can be shared with the full Board.

Follow the Board’s work

Serve on the Board

Board members are neighbors from the six towns, elected by their communities. Seats come up for election every year, and vacancies are sometimes filled between elections by appointment.
